The STAR WARS Experience - Round 2

After all the fun we had waiting to go in, I couldn't imagine how AWESOME the actual exhibit was going to be. It was all that and then some, and that's putting it lightly.

Before pics, you should know that half of these pics are from a nice digicam and the other half are from my cellphone cause my digicam batteries friggin died. I was running around the exhibit like a MADMAN trying to get as many good pics with the digicam before the batteries crapped out. Unfortunately, because of this, a good deal of the pics never made it to the memory card. Among those missing are:
C3PO and R2D2, The Tie Fighter, The Millenium Falcon, The Hoth Stormtrooper, Darth Vader's Original Costume, (a good pic of) The Tusken Raiders and Jawa
And I know there were others that I didn't get.
But fear not, I'm planning on going back to get all the pics I missed as well as ride the "Millenium Falcon Ride" which we bailed on today because of the INSANELY LONG wait in line.

Now.....for some pics.

As soon as you walk in the exhibit you are surrounded by FIERCENESS.
To your left is Luke's X-Wing miniature:

In front of you is Luke's ORIGINAL LIFE SIZED Land Speeder used in "Episode IV: A New Hope":

And to your right is Sebulba's ORIGINAL LIFE SIZED Podracer from "Episode I: The Phantom Menace":

Now we move into the exhibit and I gotta say it was almost overwhelming there was just SO MUCH STUFF!!!! Like....
AT-AT miniature:

AT-ST Miniature along with a Seperatist Droid Walker Miniatures:

Seperatist Battle Droid:

Seperatist Battle Droid Ship Miniature (and for a mini, it was still pretty damn big):

Chewbacca's Bowcaster:

C3PO (unfinished from "Episode I: The Phantom Menace") and the Probe Droid Miniature from "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back":

Then I noticed that DARTH VADER and BOBA FETT came up to take pics with people in the exhibit, so I couldn't resist and I took another pic of my new master:

Back to the exhibit...
A clay mold for General Grievous from "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith":

The ORIGINAL Costume for HAN SOLO and CHEWBACCA in "Episode IV: A New Hope":

A miniature of Luke on his Tauntaun from "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back":

The Medical Droid and 2-1B (off to the right) who helped Luke after his Wampa attack in "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back":

The Medical Frigate seen at the end of "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back":

The Naboo Cruiser Miniature from the prequels:

A rather blurry pic of the Tusken Raiders:

A clay miniature of Sebulba from "Episode I: The Phantom Menace":

A miniature of a STAR DESTROYER:

An original Stormtrooper costume:

The Prison "Truth Telling Torture" Droid that Vader used on Leia in "Episode IV: A New Hope":

The MASK of DARTH VADER (in 3 pieces):

A miniature of the Wookie village seen in "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith":

And finally, my 2 favorite items from the Exhibit (that pics came out for)....
THE WAMPA

And despite earlier pictures of me kneeling before Vader (who I believe there is still some good in), this here is my TRUE MASTER.
YODA, Jedi Master

In Round 3, in about 3 weeks or so, I'll have all the remaining pics as well as some spy pics from inside the "Millennium Falcon Ride". :)
Until then....

May the Force Be With You.

Always.

The STAR WARS Experience - Round 1

OMG it was so awesome, I can't find words that do it justice.
So let me SHOW YOU just how FIERCE "The STAR WARS Experience" was.....

We showed up to the Franklin Institute to find a STORMTROOPER and a JAWA hanging out front on the main entrance stairs, and on the vertical pieces of the staircase, was a GIANT picture of Darth Vader's helmet (it was too large to get a good pic of):

As soon as we got in, I saw him. BOBA FETT. I almost freaked out.
So first I took this pic of him as I was all excited just to see him:

Then I gave Nick the camera and got this here pic of me with the man, Mr. BOBA FETT:

But that still wasn't enough for me, I was still freaking out, so I got one last shot of him as he was talking to his "boss":

As we waited for our entrance time to the exhibit, we wandered around and ran into the rest of the Garrison Carida. First, I saw the Jawa from the front steps, so I walked up to him with my camera and said "Ooh Tee Dee" and he turned to me and said "Tsgadadah Ooh Tee Dee!!" and I jumped. Here he is:

Then we found a Stormtrooper chillin out with the folks at the back of the (almost 2 hour wait in) line for the "Millenium Falcon Ride". He was nice enough to take a pic with me....that is, until I noticed his blaster pointed at my gut!!

And hanging out around the front of the line was one of the Biker Scout Stormtroopers from "Return of the Jedi". He was very nice. Kinda short for a stormtrooper....

Then finally, as we were gettin ready to get in line for the exhibit, we saw HIM. The Dark Lord of the Sith. DARTH VADER. One of my lifelong dreams was to kneel at the feet of Darth Vader, and today that dream came true:

After I did that, I was on Cloud City for a few minutes, but managed to get this shot of Vader ordering one of his Stormtroopers to do something before we headed into the exhibit:

I don't know how many pics I can cram into a post here, so this seems like a good point to post and continue with Part 2 "Inside the STAR WARS Exhibit" in another entry. ;)

More to come....

14 hours to go....

I sit here listening to the STAR WARS Soundtrack from John Williams.
I look at pictures of the Garrison Carida on their website.

In less than 14 hours, I will be in the middle of all things STAR WARS as I go to the Franklin Institute's STAR WARS "Science Meets Imagination" exhibit.

Sometime tomorrow night (or Monday night :p) I will post a detailed account of my experience including many many many many many pictures. :D

Until then, May the Force Be With You. :)

Peace,
Truff
